what's the grossest thing you've found in/on your computer?

i was helping a co-worker with some training and sat down to use his computer...i started using his mouse, and i noticed there was some kind of booger or maybe it was just old food stuck in between the left and right buttons on his standard microsoft mouse, right under the scrollwheel, some gooey sticky stuff. that just grossed me out.

another time, my cat barfed a dead bird i think all over my keyboard, just feathers and blood. *ack*

I pet my dog once while he put his muzzle near the keyboard, and he just barfed all over it.

A Creative soundcard ...for some reason... i keep finding it in there or rather putting it in there.

When I open my casing, there's always a lot of my hair inside. There was one time, the hair accumulated so much that my fan stopped working. :Q

I built a computer for work and left one of the slot "thingies" open.

A mouse was living in there (Warm and cozy I guess)

So there was mouse turds and pee all over the sound card and inside the case.

The sound stopped working, but I pulled the card and cleaned the T&P off of it and got it working.

One more reason NOT to leave the back of the case open.

I found the remains of one of those huge house spiders in my computer... unfortunately I think it had a run in with my YS Tech 120mm

Well this did not happen to me, I work tech support for HP and a customer called in and said he could hear popping from the unit. I assumed powersupply failure and had the unit serviced. when we opened the unit there was areound 15 cockroaches all burned up..... It was hella gross!!

Seriously, worst stuff I've found in/on other computers is dead insects and/or years of built up stinky, sticky, cigarette smoke dust. I keep mine relatively clean.

A tech of mine was working on a Dell Optiplex for a customer. He opened the case and out came a caravan of roaches. Those little fvckers were everywhere. Needless to say we charged the customer "extra" labor.

Serously though, I worked tech support for two years and I think the grossest thing I found in there was a huge dust bunny, plus a layer of dust about a half inch thick on every component - case had never been opened in like three or four years of being in someone's farm house.

One of the guys I work with had to go do some upgrades at one of our remote sites. He saw that someone had stuck many, many pieces of chewed gum all over the outside one of the cases.
