Heard there's a new BIOS for Abit KT7, which allows to disable or enable ACPI.
What's the good to disable it? I don't understand?

Use system information to look up irqs. W2K lies to assign multiple devices to the same irq, esp 11.

but if you disable the ACPI, shouldn't the system is not able to turn off itself?

Such as it shuts down by itself when you click on shut down right?

<< which is really really bad for games >>

Where did you hear that?

The only reason I've heard for disabling ACPI is to help the SBLive! function properly on some systems. In most cases, ACPI is a good thing.
