What's the general policy on being topless in public?

The general policy is that it is socially unacceptable and there are indecency laws against it.

There are some nude beaches here in SoCal though were you can go totally nude with no problem. I've seen a few hot women there but mostly it's middle age men and women you wouldn't really want to see naked anyway. Some hotties though.

Nudity doesn't bother me. Hell, I've laid out naked in my back yard a few times. 😛

That's why I moved.

In NYC it's perfectly legal for women to go around topless. The judgement was that since it's legal for men to do so, and women aren't in anyway inferior (aka different) to men in the eyes of the law, then women deserve to be treated equally. I agree with their decision.

Woman and a man are jogging down the street, both topless (let's say that the woman isn't that well endowed lessoning the floppage factor). Would the woman be given a ticket for indecent exposure? And if so would the ACLU swoop in?

It's a serious question and one that goes to the heart of why we Americans are so uptight about nudity.

Since you live in NC you should no there is no state law that says a woman can;t go topless. Those laws are passed by the city/county and you be surprised how many do NOT have laws against it. In Wilmington NC there is no topless law, at least thats what the police say. 🙂

I suggest we find a good looking girl and test this theory.

depends on the state.

I've seen footage of a protest in CA where both men and women were completely nude and riding bicycles and no one got arrested, unfortunately i cannot find any of the clips online at this time. 🙁
