They will be placed in shelves.

What will they use, some type of anti-matter machine?

Yes. It will be squinted at by beetle-browed neanderthals until tuesday.

I misread this as the future of "boobs".

The answer's the same either way. We plan on staring intently at and handling them.

Somehow I don't see the future of books being tied to one company.

Those ebook readers are pretty cool though. Wonder how much they really compete with real books in the future?

I just finished another book last night on my e-ink Sony PRS-505 ebook reader.

I'm gonna go with ebook readers being the future of books for now until something better comes along that no ones thought of yet.

They will be read, as always. Some people actually like to read books (shocking, I know) and that is not going to change.

Newspapers on the other hand....

I kind of hope it's not the Kindle, because then content publishers will have too much control over what we do with the content: link

There is something about being able to take a book anywhere and read it that I doubt any technology will ever be able to beat. It needs no power, can survive heat and cold , can be dropped, beat, and sat on and the content remains. Besides what else would people use to prop up the leg of a table ?

This. I thoroughly enjoy sitting down with a good, paper book. The Kindle and other similar devices are good ideas, but I would MUCH rather read a good old-fashioned book.
