What's the fixation with wireless stuff?

I mean... I have a home theater PC that's entirely wireless, but a lot of people I know -- gamers -- are going wireless. And then when I play them online, they get their a$$ kicked because I play faster than them. I think I'd beat them anyway, just not that badly.

I don't get the big deal with wireless... if you have the room and can hide some wires, why not stick with wired?

I am not a fan of wireless myself, so I cant comment on why people like it so much.

I am quite the opposite, I love cables, nothing to go wrong is the way I see it.

but that's just me...

To me personally, wireless mice offer much more freedom. Despite numerous efforts made with respect to cable tidying, I always found that the cord would be troublesome. Movements across my desk would mean I was pulling the mouse and the cord.

Cordless, I dont have a problem with. Im still as proficient at gaming without a cord as I was with a cord and being 'the best' or 'great' isnt everything. Having fun is the main thing.

I don't know what you're talking about. I've never experienced any lag with my wireless devices.

I prefer cables because I am not convinced that all this wireless radiation is completely harmless.

It would be interesting to look back at this time in a hundred years from now and just see what detrimental effects occured directly as a result of the proliferation of all these wireless devices.

The big deal with wireless? Convenience. I have two computers in my work area along with a boatload of peripherals. The more wires that I can do without the better. It just reduces clutter. (Too bad I've only been able to cut the cord with my mouse and keyboard.)

If you're one of those gamers who overclocks and likes to squeeze every ounce of speed and performance out of your setup, then yeah, wired is going to be better for you. But for most normal, every day use, the slight loss of speed is worth the sacrifice for a more tidy living/working space.

You had better get rid of your microwave oven, cordless phone, cell phone and who knows what else. Move to the middle of Montana and crawl in a hole. Electromagnetic radiation is ALL around us and not having a low wattage radio running isn't going to shield you from it. Just random thoughts. GP

same here.

I love my wireless keyboard/mouse. it's nice to be able to keep my keyboard in my lap or use my leg as a mouse pad.

I guess my concern is the MAJOR increase in EMR around us, anyhow living in New Zealand I am not too concerned as population density is way low and there are some pretty remote and deserted places.

good point but in todays society i dont think there is much avoiding it. pretty much all of my own stuff is cabled but its for a couple different reasons, i like to keep it simple and i spent all my money on hardware.

Along with the marked increases in cancers in various parts of the world too, but that alone doesn't establish a connection, but it should seem suspicious.

there is no appreciable lag from wireless mice and keyboards. I play a lot of CS and never have any problems.
