My step Dad taught me to shoot and how to safely handle a gun when I was about 10 years old. He took me outside at his cabin in Maine and we shot coffee cans with a .22 bolt action rifle. It was great fun and I enjoyed it immensely.

My Mom always hated guns and still does to this day. She knows I own them but doesn't bring it up at all when she visits. I have a very secure gun safe where all my guns and ammo are locked away. The safe weighs about 400 lbs., contains about 100 lbs. of guns and ammo and it is bolted to the concrete slab my house sits on. It isn't going anywhere.
