What's the first CD/Album you ever owned

My first was Pink Floyd's Wall.

I bought it around 6th/7th grade and was going to play Another Brick In The Wall, Pt. 2 in music class but the teacher wouldn't play it because of the "we don't need no education" lyrics (durn Catholic school!). So...instead....she cued up Nobody Home 😉

When that line "thirteen channels of sh*t on the TV to choose from..." was played, she turned SO red!! 🙂

That was sooo very long ago.

And it was of course an LP.

I think my first CD was either a Dire Straights or Stevie Ray Vaughn.
 
First real album (i.e., non-kiddie music 🙂 ), IIRC, was a "Best of Hits"-type thing. Can't recall the title, but it included Michael Jackson, and The Knack, among others.

First CD I ever bought was Van Halen - OU812.

 
First music I ever owned was a tape of the Beach Boys Greatest Hits.... followed closely by this. 😱 Needless to say my tastes have changed drastically... 🙂

My first CD was U2's Achtung Baby, bought used in 1996... 🙂

The first (and still the only) album I ever bought/owned is a box set of Karajan's 1963 Cycle of Beethoven's 9 Symphonies. In my opinion it is the best overall Beethoven Symphonies Cycle, because the older cycles' sound qualities (for example, Furtwangler's) are horrible.

The 7th and 9th Symphonies from the Karajan cycle are the best!
 
First album was "In The Blue Room", a surf music compilation. First CD was either Jurassic Park soundtrack or Masters of Classical Music 10-CD box set.

That was my first CD too!!! Back in 1988? I got a Discman and the album from my dad for Christmas...Thinking back, where was an 8 year old gonna go with a Discman?

Second album is the Boyz II Men Christmas CD.

First cassette is New Kids on the Block "Hangin Tough"...and not ashamed to admit it!!! 🙂
 
Album= Kiss - Destroyer, got it for Xmas, then my mom got on a religious kick and wouldn't let me play it for like 6 months

CD= (Don't laugh) Milli Vanilli. 😱


 
My first two tapes (bought at same time) were Prince's 1999 and Quiet Riot's Metal Health. Strange combination, but they were both popular albums at the time.
 
My first album ever was Foreigner's "Double Vision" (parents got it for me for christmas, back in the '70s). First CD was a Razormaid mix compilation that I bought in Sacramento around 1989..
