When I was in 3rd or 4th grade, I got my sister's hand me down record player and bought my first record...it was 45 of Queen's "Another one bites the dust".

😱 Elton John - Live In Australia 😱

Bought it at Caldor (who is now out of business) in September 1989 for $16.99. That was a lot of change for a 16 yr old back then, but I was an young audiophile going giddy over digital sound.

Over 12 years later, I have about 800 CDs (would have about 1500 if I couldn't sell used the crap I didn't like) and rarely spend more than $10 per album now.

Boston, their first record. Really cool cover.... the only thing i miss about albums, the art work.

My mother who never understood the concept of aging decided that my first CD should be the Lion King soundtrack. I dont remember if it ever actually came out of the wrap. The first CD's I purchased were about a day after that... Nirvana's Nevermind and Bleach.

I have that LP. Great album! And whoever mentioned album art is right on the money.

Zenmervolt, my best friend at the time couldn't stomach my taste in music, so he turned me on to Three Dog Night. Hah! That sucked! But then he got me into Bowie and Eno and I just can't thank him enough for that!

My second 45 was "Where's Your Mamma Boy" by Olivia Newton John. Damn, I was all over the map! 😱

Jodeci - "Come & Talk To Me" Maxi Single

Still my favorite CD and song. Very hard to find, usually goes for over 30 bucks on Ebay...hehe. 😎

First tape I owned was Janet Jackson's Control album. The first cd I bought was Queensryche, Operation Mindcrime.

First CD - I spent an hour in the "Off the Record" store. Picked out Dire Straits - Walk of Life (can't remember if that was the album title or not). No idea why I did that, but I remember how clear it sounded when the first chords came out. Neat little bit o nostalgia

The one and only CD I have ever bought is VengaBoys- (forgot the CD name) 😱

this cd had songs like Ibiza, Vengabus, etc
