This is just a simple thread asking what was the first CD/Album you ever had in your possesion. Either buy purchasing or by gift.

I was young and it was during the couple of weeks that he was actually cool

First CD (discounting all the LP's I got from my father) was either Don McLean's "Classics" or Warren Zevon's "Excitable Boy", I'm not sure which. Might have bought them both on the same day.

<< I'm embarassed to admit it, but it was released the same day I bought my first CD player.

My first CD

lol! what are you embarassed about?! that cd rox0rs! 😀

I don?t remember, but looking at my collection, some of my first were Violent Femmes ? self titled, Violent Femmes ? Add it Up, STP ? Core, Arrested Development ? 3..., 5..., 2..., Nirvana ? Nevermind, They Might be Giants ? Flood, MTV?s Never Mind The Mainstream Volume 1, and probably some others that I sold one day.

I?ll probably never sell another CD again. I was desperate and needed $20 fast for cigarettes and to fill my gas tank to get to work in the suburbs. Ha ha, I hope I never have to work far from home again either. I hate long forced work commutes a lot. Oh, and I quit smoking 3-4 years ago. 🙂

1. Green Day - Dookie
2. Collective Soul - Collective Soul (Blue Cover....i think some had a green cover, anyone remember?)
3. Metallica - Metallica

Speaking for those of us who bought a CD player when they were first released back in the early 80's, and the selection of CD's would fill a bin about 3' wide (and a CD cost $25), nearly everyone bought Dark Side of the Moon as soon as they could get their hands on it.

Two on the same day I bought my first CD player:

Robert Plant - Now and Zen
Led Zeppelin - zoso/4/unpronouncable symbols/old guy with sticks

That was oooh...1988. About three months after the Now and Zen album released.

As for Zep 4... come on, a must buy.

First Album: KISS ALIVE!
First CD: Creedance Clearwater Revival....Chronicles

Bunker: There there (with a pat on the back). I too bought that CD when it was released. Please repeat after me: I am a glam-a-holic and I love myself! Be proud!

Well I got all of them all on my 11th birthday (02-15-95). I think I'm the only person to be basically proud of these.

Offspring - Smash (Great CD, even if they did sellout and stop being punk rock afterwards)
Green Day - Dookie
Weezer - Weezer (The Blue Album) (Possibly one of the greatest CD's ever)
