I worked one place.. one of the managers quit and went somewhere else.. she called me asking if I was interested in working where she was working, so I went in, talked to the general manager, and was hired that day.. and began working that day too. o-O

Contrary to what a lot of people think, GOOD people are hard to find too! If you meet the qualifications and seem to fit the culture of the place, they don't want to lose you either!

You'd be surprised how many inept people are out there trying to get jobs that they simply do not have training for.

I walked in, started to ask "May have an appli..." was interrupted by "you're hired".

Not really, but you know this kind of question will inevitably turn into a pissing match, so I thought I get an early one-upper in there.

Today I applied at a restraunt, they interviewed me, then proceeded to tell me they had no positions
at this restraunt, but they own a second one, which was down the road about 10 minutes away.
I went and talked with the manager of that restraunt, 2 hours later I was cooking there.

How about that? desperate for help????

although I did make mention that I worked at another restraunt for like 3 years previous to this employment.
Man... good thing I got the job... I need the money something fierce.

Makes perfect sense to me

Staffing a restaurant is a task that changes every day.... like when 3 employees don't show up and two more walk out on you....

Ha ha. The company I really wanted to work for was on campus interviewing, but the interview slots filled up to quick for me to sign up. So I left the guy my resume and he phoned back and after a couple of questions, he said "enuf BS, we want you to work for us" Very cool.

I also interviewed with some "big-name" corporations that turned me off. Kellogg (the cereal folks) really turned me off with their recruiting. I also interviewed with Proctor and Gamble in Cincinatti. I flew out there a few years ago and they said. "We want to hire you. I am going to write a figure on this piece of paper for your salary".

Just laughing b/c nothing against P&G - they are a good company - but just the manner in which they presented it like it was some kind of big deal, but it was like $1000/mo less than others were offering.
