Of course we're talking about a job that you didn't have a family member get you?

(I.E. - mowing the lawn/painting the house/family buisness... etc...)

Today I applied at a restraunt, they interviewed me, then proceeded to tell me they had no positions
at this restraunt, but they own a second one, which was down the road about 10 minutes away.
I went and talked with the manager of that restraunt, 2 hours later I was cooking there.

How about that? desperate for help????

although I did make mention that I worked at another restraunt for like 3 years previous to this employment.
Man... good thing I got the job... I need the money something fierce.

This past summer, I went into Papa John's, talked to the manager on duty, filled out an app, she told me about the job (and ordered my hat and shirt). Went back the next day to talk to the store manager and was working a few days later.

Hey - the EXACT same thing happened to me about two years ago :D I walked in, asked if they had an opening, they said that they need someone to make pizzas, I said that sounds cool, and the mananger told me to show up for training the next day. :D

The same thing also happened to me when I applied at Gateway. At my first interview, the manager just came out and told me that I was hired in the middle of the interview.

Once an old employer called ME because they had a new position. I didn't even have to apply, he gave it to me over the phone.

Getting the job I have right now (sporting goods, custom shirts) went pretty much likes this:

Me: *walks in*
Me: Hi, I heard you're looking for someone to work with graphics for shirts and stuff.
Boss: Yeah, when do you want to start?
(Note I had never talked to this guy before in my life)
Me: Uhh, I can whenever you want me to.
Boss: Good, bring in a work permit form tomorrow and we'll get you set.
Me: Uh alright see you tomorrow then.

I was kinda surprised, this being my first job :)

20 minutes???? how the hell did you pull that off? obviously you weren't wearing nice clothes when you applied... either that or you lived next door to the place.

we've hired a few people on the spot but they must complete all paperwork before starting, so the fastest turnaround i've seen is like three days.

I walked in a Jean-Coutu and had a job 5 minutes later. Didn't give a CV, no application form nothing. Wasn't a bad job either.

Fastest was I walked in to apply, and I was asked to come back the next day for an interview. Five minutes later I was told I have a job and that I start Monday. Was just a supermarket, but oh well.
