Audi a4 Cabriolet
Jaguar XK8 Convertible
AE86 Convertible

all at about 115ish

when i was younger 140ish in my uncle's mustang cobra

127mph in my old Dodge Spirit going downhill the whole way in VA. It shook so bad I thought the car was going to fly off the road.

Did about 110 or so on the causeway bridge in New Orleans with my Honda Accord

So what is your max speed?

125ish...i have been at 155-157 in a cadillac before with my dad driving :x

186mph on my K5 GSX-R 1000 - hit the rev limiter

~130mph in my 1970 Chevy Nova SS

125mph in my 94 Chevy Lumina z34

Wow... after reading this thread I don't even feel like what I have done would be classified as speeding. Probably 90 mph is the fastest I have done, in a 1988 Honda Accord, going down hill.

I've done 128mph in my Cooper S on the Ohio Turnpike. It was still pulling quite well when I ran out of 'balls'.

I was doing 115mph in my '70 Chevelle when I remembered that my BFGoodrich Radial T/A's were only rated to 112mph and promptly slowed down. 🙂

Driving: 100mph in my 2001 Chevy 2500HD (its different in a truck), on 128, which means I wasn't speeding.
Driven: 165mph in my neighbors 1998 Lotus Esprit

I was told I was going ~115 in a 1984 Pontiac 6000 on the Great Highway along Ocean Beach in San Francisco (before it was remodeled with all the timed stop lights).

I was driving next to a friend who was in a 280Z (or some kind of Z). He had to tell me how fast we were going because the Pontiac's speedo topped out at 85!

This has been asked here, at ATOT in the past.

Year 1979
140+ MPH, I-87 North, headed to Glens Falls, to see Rainbow, and BOC.
1968 Plymouth GTX,
440HP big block engine,
4 speed standard shift tranny.

Year 2002?
About the same, 140+mph. I-88 West/south headed to Cobleskill, NY to a Car show.
1967 Chevrolet, Camaro
472 Big block engine
4 speed tranny.

1977
98Mph, West Tx near Midland, on a county road, headed due west.
1964 Plymouth Valiant,
170 cid slant 6 1 bbl carb
3 speed standard.
Got nabbed by a State Police Officer.

Recently,
close to the speed limit, I need to keep my license clean for my Job.

Fastest i ever drove was 145-150 ish
Interstate 87 North,
{locally called the Northway} 1979 or so.

Car was a 1968 GTX, 440 cid,375 hp 4 speed with 3:23 gears.
it had a 150 speedo and the guy behind me started to yell, hey the speedo is buried,Man!
{the car had a 150 mph speedo}

We were going to a concert at Glens Falls Civic Center,
Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow, and I think Blue Oyster Cult.

http://www.popmatters.com/musi.../r/rainbow-catch.shtml

For a brief spell during the mid-to-late '70, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow managed to bridge the gap somewhat between the pioneering heavy metal dinosaurs (Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath) and the burgeoning, so-called new wave of British heavy metal (Iron Maiden, Diamond Head, Def Leppard). Dissatisfied with his work with Deep Purple, ace guitarist Blackmore left the band in 1975, and decided to start over again, this time with a band of his own.

Second fastest was 2 years ago,on Interstate 88 in my 1967 Camaro,about 140 mph,
that car had a 160 mph speedo,and had a 427 bigblock,4 speed,3:31 rear gears.

I buried the speedo on my current car,1964 Valiant,V8,but it only goes to 110mph.

Eh I think 100-ish in my 2002 Dodge Stratus. I was just passing people on the highway. I don't usually go over 80-85 in normal driving and never too fast.

There's a real difference in being a crazy driver and just being a person who likes to go fast 😛

back in the 80's my non-stock 74' SD Trans AM with 2.73 gearing got up to 155MPH++++ (Moroso Speedometer was maxed out)and was loosely bounding down the road with little control
