Whats the fastest quiet SINGLE slot card I can get

7900gt/ x1900gt are both single slot i think

the 7900gt cooler isnt exactly "quiet" though, not sure about the x1900gt 🙂

go with 7900gt though thats NOT overclocked at factory
There are tons of factory overclocked cards being returned because the factory overclocks too much so you end up Underclocking back down to where you would have Overclocked yourself for free and wasted the extra money for the factory Over-overclock (hope that made sense)

Just get a 7900gt on PCI express and overclock it yourself with coolbits...
Im really happy with my MSI vid card..i used coolbits for a decent overclock but not a superoverclock that locks up like some of these cards do straight outta the box.

single slot = one PCI bracket (X1900XT, 7950GX2, take up two slots worth of width)

for the fastest single-slot card, my bet would be X1900GT

Many of the top end cards take up 2 slots. Have you seen the stock cooler on the 7900GTX huge!!!

I think the 7900GT performs better than the X1900GT overall, but is also more expensive.

The X1900GT stock cooler is fairly quiet, but doesn't cool very well.

If you want it to be quiet, it'll need to be big.

If you want it to be small and quiet, it'll need to be slow.

Therein lies your problem.

For performance with maximum quietness (stock)get a 7900gtx, and deal with the size of the cooler. If you hate your money, get an x1900xtx and make some single slot wonder water cooling setup somehow.
