What's the farthest you'll drive for a day trip?

2-3 Hours is how long it takes me to get home and I have done that for only a day.

More than 6 hours, as I love going to Florida or this certain part of Canada from NJ. I love driving.

6 hours is about my per day driving limit.. I did 7 once.. well.. twice, I came home too. 🙂 but 6 is really about as much as I'm comfortable doing.. so if I'm coming home the same day, 2-3 would be my limit.

4 hours, which is about what its going to take me to get to richmond on friday morning, and i should be getting home around 4 or 5 am saturday.

once did 6 hours from Virginia Tech to Norfolk for 2nd Metallica Concert in 3 days.....I drove there and a friend I went with drove back....left at noon, got in at 6:30 concert from 7-10p, arrived back at 4am just in time to get a few hours of sleep before my classes for the day!

 

I drive about 200 miles a day for work.
Usually 5-8 hours on the road.

Given I drove from Winnipeg, MB to Toronto, ON to Columbia, SC in about 24 hours of driving, time no longer has any meaning to me while driving.

Screw that. My mortgage sucks up a huge part of my income, and maintaining this house sucks up more, as well as time. When I FINALLY do get time to enjoy myself, I want to spend that time HERE! Traveling more than a few minutes is NOT my idea of fun. My dad lives 30 minutes away, and I HATE making that trip, let alone spending more time on the road in search of "fun".

when i lived in the UK, my ex husband and I used to drive up to 3 hours each way for day trips every weekend. VeggieFrog has been just about everywhere in England on various length drives thru the years.

now... depends on what the definition of DAY TRIP is.... if it means that we leave late friday, drive someplace and return late Saturday night... i think the b/f and i would drive more than 4 hours.

pulled this trip once.

6 hours from rochester, ny to some camping site in south PA at midnight
then another 6 hours back in the next day.

I once towed a car on a trailer for 13 1/2 hours. Started out at 6:00am and arrived at 7:30pm. Stopped a couple times for gas is all.

Felt great afterwards - went out to dinner.

Drove 10 hours and 30 minutes by myself from the middle of Ohio to the middle of Alabama. It was just over 600 miles, I believe. I drove back the next day.
