You're going to spend $300 or so to have an impressive laptop bag for one meal?
Meal's gonna cost them a lot more than $300.

What does that have to do with you spending $300 for one time use?

Who cares if he uses it once or a thousand times? It's a sunk cost after the money has been spent. I hope you guys don't show up to meetings in a beaten up hand-me-down suit and a backpack...

They called me. Hey, it's not every day I get taken to lunch by the head of a company that I read about in the Wall Street Journal. Might as well enjoy myself.

What does buying some expensive, overpriced laptop bag have to do with that?

Feel good cause you look good = enjoying oneself.

Thoreau and Emerson would like to have a word with you.

Just trying to point out the correlation 😉

Hey, I feel good when I dress up and stuff too, more confidence etc.

Feel good cause you spent too much trying to overcome insecurities about looking good = owning oneself.

Fixed!

Get one of those metal box briefcase ones. And have it rigged that it takes 2 keys to open. When you sit down with them pull your key out and unlock the right hand side while you phone your personal assistant to unlock the left. Count to 3 and launch
I like that idea....well, not so elaborate. How about a nice Zero Halliburton briefcase? They have ones that are specifically for laptops.

Something like this

Whoa those are nice! I want something that doesn't look like a girl's bag, and those fit!

Because after the dinner, she's going to toss it out? First impressions are often very important... at the very least, it wouldn't hurt.

Anyway, if you haven't bought one yet... try Booq: http://www.booqbags.com/index.html

Most people 'in the know' know about Booqs... it's not going to cost you $300 (probably, depends on what you get), and it's very damn nice and trendy. You can definitely spend $300 on something that's made of alligator skin or something like that, that's only purely expensive because of the costs or because of the brand... but seeing the black and orange of a Booq bag shows you know style but sense too. LOL i know i sound like a commercial.

Yeah. I've got one...but no killer laptop to put in it!

Hi gang - thank you for all the suggestions, there's some amazing stuff out there! I especially like the metal cases . . . when I win the lottery, that'll be on my list.

THIS is what I got Tumi Vista Laptop Carrier (thanks!). Leather, black, it's beautiful and simple, and small, my Compaq fits perfectly. I'll use this a lot, I really like it.

I'm off to the big city for the meeting. The fun part is that for one lunch I can pretend that I'm the kind of person who lunches with CEO's (remember, I usually work at home online in my jammies). Plus there's a tiny outside chance I can get some work out of them, why else would they ask me to lunch?

Bye.

Uhm, wtf. Don't bring your laptop to lunch. Use the money and put it toward a decent pair of shoes or something. Who the hell buys a laptop bag to impress a so-called "top-exec" at lunch. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and assume the "top-exec" is the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation, and that "lunch" is high tea at the savoy.

So to answer your question- you can probably find something at hermes or saks, but that might a bit out of your range
