What's the equivalent of our mental processing capacity?

How can I find something that compares to our "mental processor"? I don't believe that we all share the same processing speed, so I want to know how to measure this.

You talking about just on a conscious level or fully?

Hmm, good question. Both would be nice, but if I can only measure one, then I choose the latter.

About a K6-2 350...maybe.

I certainly hope not. However, it certainly would explain how easy it is to burn my own brain out. I've fried more K6-2s than I've had ISPs over the years.

The brain runs in parallel keeping system devices functioning (heart, lungs, stomach, kidneys, etc) along with conscious and subconscious thoughts. So saying the brain can do a petaflop or exeflop per second isn't surprising. So figure the equivalent of a Cray XT Jaguar (45,000 quad-core 2.1 GHz AMD Opteron processors that take advantage of 362 terabytes of memory) in your noggin

Depends.

In CS Source about 0

In whatever program that is coded for it? Depends on the app

he gives it some number, i think he has calculated we will reach it pretty soon provided moores law withstands

He give a good synopsis of what information and knowledge are, and lays out the basic architecture of the brain and how it compares to current machine intelligences, the his most recent book, The Singularity Is Near. It's basically billions of really slow little computers hooked together. He does provide numbers.

Other than that, it may also be the most MINDBLOWING book you ever read.
