What's the difference..?

Well one is the "Extreme" version, which in Asus' world usually means its slower than the normal version (Their X800XL comes with 700mhz DDR1?).

I think the only real difference between those two is the HSF on the card, and even though the pic on Newegg shows the standard nVidia one, I believe that Asus might have switched it over to their own. Thats what several companies did, is when the cards were newer and in limited quantities just used the reference cooler, but then some of them changed them later.

Would anyone happen to know if I ordered this card from NewEgg if I'd get the cool looking blue one..? I love the look of that one and it would go perfect with my build.

no, what there pic is is what ur getting. i would hope so... but that blue on loosk really cool and has the 6800 ultra shapr heatsink except one slot.

Dang. Anyone have suggestions as to where online might be a good place to get one if not newEgg..? Also now that I think about it, how would I even know before I ordered which one I'd get from them...? /sigh

lol check out the review on the newegg card..."this card outbenches X800XTPE all day long"...nice one 😀

Thanks for the heads up Cheese, it's definately the 256 variety. I found this link ASUS EXTREME N6800GT while trying to find a place to buy one. It's got all the info I could ever possibly want and then some, well, except a solid reputable place to buy it anyhow... 😛 Anyone out there have this card..? If so where did you get it 😕
