What's the difference? Lian-Li PC-6FNW & PC-7FNW

What's the difference between these two cases?

Price...😉 (according to egg at least - pc7 must be more popular)

The -6 seems to have a less restrictive front grill, but that's all I can see. Is the aluminum thicker on the -6?

This question I'll be able to answer you next week as I will have both of them in front of me...(actually I already got one, just waiting for the other)

Thinking of buying one?

Yes, seriously considering buying one for my wife's rig. Doing a major upgrade and... why not replace the case as well? Her current case is a Lian Li PC-7BW. What we need that it doesn't have are ports for liquid cooling tubes coming out the back (though I can mod these in) and front panel ports at the front/top of the chassis. The old PC-7BW has the USB ports at the very bottom below the intake fan, meaning it is at ground level for her setup and making them annoying to use. On the contrary my Lian Li Lancool has the ports at the top under a flap just like the PC-7FNW, and they certainly are handy in that location.

The fully list of "requirements" for her replacement case is: Front/top panel ports (USB), liquid cooling tube ports in the rear, can hold 10.5" graphics card, hold ATX motherboard, have side window, doesn't look like ass, cost under $200 shipped.

Due to a screw up I won't be getting a PC-7FNB (non-window version) but another PC-60FNB instead. (the one I've got here with me has the window) The thickness of the front bezel I'll bet anything will be the same. I also have two original Lian Li PC-6X's (from 10 years ago) and the thickness of the front appears to be identical. I personally wouldn't worry about this issue as it is a non-issue...
What I'm going to do for you is to show you where you can purchase these cases a bit cheaper than what newegg is offering and save you some money...(check your PM😉)

Thanks for the links, solofly! A couple quick questions if you know... so the front intake is different, is it purely cosmetic or does one work better than the other? Do these have intake filters for the front fan as well as the bottom PSU opening? TIA!

Mainly cosmetic I would say though less restriction is always welcome...

As for filters yes there is one up front and one on the bottom...

I finally received my second PC-60FNW and no it didn't come with a filter on the bottom. Have a look at this picture and tell me if you see a filter there...?

I assumed when I said it comes with a filter on the bottom since both of my PC-60FNWs are slightly diffenerent on the inside...

One looks like this...

and the other...

Both were bought about two weeks apart...

Yes. Have checked it out and am reasonably pleased with the $155 out-the-door price for the PC-60FNWB (or FNBW, or whatever).

The one we got did NOT have any filter under the PSU, so that is a disappointment. The side panels were really tough to remove the first time. Plenty of space behind the mobo tray for cabling, and I like the cutout behind the CPU area. HDD trays are reversible. I'm going to reverse them so that cables can't be seen through the window. The optical drive toolless clips are pretty crappy like most on the market. The lower one is a bit loose already. [RANT] Why the FUCK does everyone want to avoid using a fucking screwdriver! 90% of "toolless" mechanisms on the market are SHIT! [/RANT] [RANT2] Why didn't Lian Li use the toolless clips that were in my Lancool? They were a LOT better and even easier to use, yet so simple. [/RANT2] The top panel feels very smooth, but has some strange "ripply" marks on it perpendicular to the brush lines. I can see them, but can't feel them. Looks almost as if it was a rolled piece that was flattened. Bit disappointing that the finish wasn't better. Overall feels a bit sturdier than the PC-7 of yesteryear.
