what's the difference between these two?

I don't think there's any difference apart from the heat spreader from what you can see from those links. Have a look at corsair's website and find out what chips are used, i.e., if any of them is a XMS Pro chip or a CMX chip. You might wanna check that out. I doubt though there is a difference except for the heat spreader.
 
There is no difference other than the colour of the heat spreader.

I found it quite useful when I ran 4 dimms to have one kit in black and one in platinum, just for easy reference to see which kit was which when they were unplugged.

Nice idea I'll have to remember that in the future.

And OP the only thing that is different is the color
