What's the difference between the Escape and Tribute?

I'm seriously considering one of these cars right now. They're very compact yet can haul a load of people and stuff, comes with plenty of features, the v6 seems to be very competent at powering it along, reviews of it are very favorable, and used ones go for cheap cheap.

I'm leaning toward the Tribute though because I think it looks better, but are there any other differences?

I just bought a Tribute. It's handles better than the Escape is a little more upscale. The Tribute is more on the level of the Mercury Mariner. In fact, the Mariner took some of the styling cues from the Tribute (e.g. the steering wheel). I also prefer the styling of the Mazda.

Mazda tweaked the Tribute's suspension, transmission, steering tuning to make is 'sportier' than the Escape.

Get the Escape Hybrid. It comes with automatic stares and chicks galore. :beer:
