What's the difference between rosin core and silver bearing?

I have seen people mention rosin core silver bearing as one item. Where as I went to Radio Shack and I saw that there was just either rosin core or the silver bearing. When someone says rosin core silver bearing, are they normally referring to just rosin core or is there a type of solder actually called rosin core silver bearing and then just silver bearing?

I assume you're talking about solder (idiot).

Rosin core and silver bearing are not mutually exclusive.

Rosin core- rosin in center to help with melting and capilary action
Silver bearing- silver included in mix to help with stickyness

As you can see, they could occur seperatly, together, or not at all.

IIRC, if just 'rosin core' is mentioned, then it's probably the lead/tin alloy used for solder, while the 'silver bead' is silver solder with a rosin core. I've done lots of soldering on stuff from sound powered phone & engine sensors to modding all of the power cables in my machine, and the best thing IMHO is solder silver solder (no core crap) used with liquid flux.
