Hmmmm the kt133(like any chipset) has a northbridge and a southbridge. The VIA686 is the southbridge from that chipset.

Northbridge controls: CPU, system bus, memory bus, AGP bus
Southbridge controls: PCI bus, ISA bus, IDE controller, USB, PS/2, peripheral control...

Thats the best I can do. And the best KT133 board for Athlon 1.1GHz would be the MicroStar K7T Pro2A.

actually, the northbridge controls the pci bus, and the southbridge is a device on the pci bus. unless you're using intel's hub architecture, then the southbridge is on its own 266 mb/s bus, its supposed to speed up hard driver performance that way.

The diference between the diferent mobo manufacturers is mostly quality, stability and features.
