Yeah so this morning I realized my parents bought orange juice that wasn't from concentrate and I was wondering what's so different between juice from concentrate and juice that's not?

I like the taste of this juice that isn't from concentrate better than all the orange juices I've drank that were from concentrate. What do you guys like better?

Not from concentrate, of course. There's nothing like fresh-squeezed OJ! :)

"From Concentrate" means the juice has been run through a high vacuum evaporator and had most of the water removed. This makes it about 3x more concentrated than normal and easier to ship/store/etc.

"Not From Concentrate" means the juice has always been kept in its original concentration..

Concentrate: Those cans of juice you put in your freezer until you mix them with water to make juice.
Not from concentrate: Squeezed out of the orange and put in the carton on the shelf.

From concentrate apple juice is alright, but fresh is just so tasty & refreshing.

I also down about half a gallon of nfc rr grapefruit & orange juice daily. It has to be very cold though.

I think "not from" is more natural. I like the way it tastes better. the concentrate is too sweet for me. especially when it comes to OJ!

Seems like most people here would rather "not from concentrate" over "from concentrate."

As for myself, I recently discovered that "not from concentrate" is much better than "from concentrate."

You know what would be so cool?

If they took alcohol put it in a vacuum and sucked about 95% of the air out of it and then old it as "from concentrate." Now THAT, that I would prefer from concentrate.

/me starts dreaming again...

If you think that Tropicana's or Florida's Natural "NOT FROM CONCENTRATE" orange juice is good, try some Odwalla fresh squeezed orange juice; odwalla has the best tasting fresh squeezed orange juice out there imo. I mainly try to drink juice not from concentrate, fresh squeezed please.

Oh, and I don't particularly like orange juice with added calcium, it tastes pasty.

All concentrate is the juice with water removed through evaporation.

ughh. I hate cold OJ. NOTHING beats fresh squeezed orange juice. And, since oranges don't grow in refrigerators, fresh squeezed, 2 minutes from the tree is the best OJ you can ever have.

I'm gonna miss spending winter breaks in Florida :(
(or was it spring break? I think it was... most of the trees in the orchard were bare, but my inlaws always kept plenty on their trees)

I prefer not from concentrate Tropicana. Although my local meijer has a dispenser that they stock daily with fresh squeezed OJ, and I've gotten it once or twice. It's awesome, but it's like $3.99/2 quarts, so there's no way I can afford that.
