What's the difference between a university and college?

A university usually grants graduate degrees while a college is terminal at undergraduate, but of course there is no rule to that.

university is made up of many colleges.

usually includes Grad programs

College of Arts and Sciences. College of . . .

This is what I have always heard/read.

masters and doctorate degrees...

also, and this may just be me, but a university has an emphasis on research

u·ni·ver·si·ty ( P ) Pronunciation Key (yn-vûrs-t)
n. pl. u·ni·ver·si·ties
An institution for higher learning with teaching and research facilities constituting a graduate school and professional schools that award master's degrees and doctorates and an undergraduate division that awards bachelor's degrees.
The buildings and grounds of such an institution.
The body of students and faculty of such an institution.

It is basically a matter of size. Universities are more likely to offer grad degrees because they can, since being bigger means more resources for graduate work and research. They have more money. Take a look at Dartmouth though. They are a college, but have bux. Therefore, they can offer many many things a university can, but on a smaller, and therefore more human scale.

dartmouth is a COLLEGE because EVEN tho it offers Graduate programs, it only has ONE college.

University is a COLLECTION of Colleges, business schools, tech schools etc.

Grad school alone is not enough.

Are you looking for a grad or undergrad?

Ones that ive heard about are:

Anderson School (GRAD) at UCLA...i was in a business program there my junior year. they're very connected. in fact, got to go to a free laker game cuz of that... very very nice facilities. one of the better graduate schools ive seen facilities-wise.

USC Marshall School--i think both grad and undergrad programs. their undergrad program is pretty darn good.

i know UC Berkeley's undergrad business dept is one of the best in the nation, not sure about their business school or even if they have one...

undergrad wise, id say UCB, then USC.
