what's the difference between 845G and 845GL?....what should I get

OK i'm leaning more towards an Intel system and I'm doing my research.

I can't seen much of a difference on specs on newegg.

doesanyone know a P4 DDR motherboard with usb2.0/ firewire/ audio?

There's a good table here to help figure out what's what. I see two big strikes against i845GL:

1) no AGP slot on i845GL motherboards! :Q The onboard graphics are your only option (other than a PCI graphics card, that is).
2) no support for the 533MHz-bus CPUs, only the 400MHz-bus models.

The 845G has support for 400MHZ and 533FSB, and the 845GL only has support for 400MHZ FSB and NO AGP slot. Look here for more detailed comparisons.

As for a a motherboard with USB 2.0, Firewire, and Audio, The Abit IT7 has all three. Its not an 845G chiset though, its 845E.
