I had to check and see what my jeans actually were. I do not remember these things. Three numbers? What am I, Rainman?

569's. Loose and straight, bitches.

I don't know why anyone would wear tapered leg jeans.

Cuz no one seems to be able to give a clear answer.

levis has a fit guide on the site...relaxed fit is a bit tighter than loose fit, the 560 also has more of a tapered leg but has a bigger leg opening at the same time. Both sit at your waist. I like below my waist.

Unless you're of certain proportions height-wise, and pretty damn skinny, I'm not sure why anyone would want the 'high rise' versions. My pants sit at the standard 'I have a slight gut' inch or two below the belly button, and there's still plenty of 'ass' in them. Extra height would probably leave me with a weird-looking empty/low ass-section.

Looking at their pictures, I dunno why anyone would buy 550's. They don't look very 'relaxed.' They look like what you would see a nerdy IT guy with a tucked-in polo or poorly fitting dress shirt wearing.

If 569's have the biggest opening at the bottom (it appears so), it's still not big enough for my jeans to drag the ground with a size 13 shoe. Maybe if I was wearing loafers or something. (to clarify- not saying I want them to drag, just pointing it out in case that's someone else's reasoning for wanting the skinnier legs)

Pants in the old times were worn a lot higher than now (at one's true waist). It's a subjective thing.

Also leg opening <> pants dragging, that's what inseam is about.

I hate, HATE shopping for jeans.

One, I'm very picky about fit and wash/color.
Two, every single pair labeled "32x32" seems to fit differently.

Whenever I go somewhere, I've been annoyed many times when the only pair of 32x32 in stock for a certain fit and color just doesn't fit me - but in a different color, to confirm sizing, it fits perfectly (but looks terrible).

Too many times has that happened. The other time, the right fit isn't even in stock.
I will not order jeans online because of the varied cuts for any labeled size. I was proven right recently, too - I figured more pairs than not seemed to fit right for AE, but the cut was a little long I think. Didn't entirely matter since I ended up not being a fan of the color once I had it on, but even if I had I would have been screwed by an ill-fitting cut.

I may have lied about Levi this year:
if I can find these locally (Levi 517), I might have to get them if they fit my legs right. I do need another lighter wash, though that might be just a tad too light for my tastes.

There seem to be some nice washes for the standard 514 (non-skinny) - but I've never seemed to find myself a fan of straight leg.

after several years of drinking beer and sitting around, I have bumped the 32 up to 33 or 34, depending on fit.

34/32 is much easier to find. ...just a suggestion. ;)

30x30, but I can sometimes find 32x32 that fit with a belt (come off slightly without)

If you stand up and the back of your pant leg is unable to touch the ground (without shoes in the way), you're gonna look like a doofus when you sit down.

My jeans bunch a little at the bottom when standing. Pretty much how Levis shows them on their site. If I sit down and cross my legs, they're just covering the top inch or so of my sneaker. You shouldn't show sock while wearing [normal] jeans. Save that for the people wearing emo/hipster skinny jeans.

I have a good break in my jeans. I haven't found the leg opening really matters.

My dress pants are closer to 31 usually. My jeans 32.
