Whats the differance between audio CD-R's and data CD-R's?

My mom needs some CD-Rs, mainly for CD backup. I see staples has Maxell 50 pack CD-R's for like less then 10.00 bucks, rigth beside that on the same page they have 30 pack maxell Audio CD-r's for the same price. What makes the audio CD-R's worth so much more?

Heres a link to the prducts in question

Royalties are included in the price of the audio CDs, don't bother because there is no difference. The only time you'd ever need them is if you bought one of those pointless standalone CD recorders.

I didn't think there was much differance if any? I know I have backed up plenty of CD's and MP3's using normal CDR's. Just wanted to make sure. I figured at most maybe they were slightly higher quality for better audio reproduction.

The audio CD's have a bit set on them so standalone audio CD recorders with copy protection will burn to them. Or something like that.
