What's the diff btw "waxing" and "polishing" a car?

Any ideas? I think that waxing is the lite version of polishing. BTW, they do charge differently for waxing and polishing here though.

It's the same difference as masturbating in the shower and washing your penis really really fast.

Waxing your car polishes the finish a bit, but it mostly adds a thin coat of wax. Polishing your car adds nothing, but it has a very fine abrasive or cleanser that cleans off stuff that normal washing wont, i.e., oxidation. It also evens out the surface of the paint, to add to the "shine."

If your paint is looking dull, your best bet is to polish it with a quality polish, then wax it.

Try doing that rubbing your extended member with your car and see how shiny both of them will be.

Just remember that MOST polishes are abrasive and are used prior to waxing... however Zaino Brothers POLISH is not... it is more like what most people would consider a wax. I put 3 coats of zaino on my carcass red 3000GT over the weekend... boy is it shiney! :)

Heh, finally the answer to something that has bugged me for sometime. Somehow I can't really see any car polish for sale around. It's all wax. Either that or I've not been looking hard enuf {g}

It took 3 days ;)
You're supposed to wait 24 hours between coats so I did this..
Thursday wash & dry car... apply zaino... wait 1 hour... buff off
Saturday repeat
Sunday repeat
WELL worth it... I've been using zaino for a couple months ago (use to use Meguiars).. I love this stuff :)

I'm gonna take some pics as soon as I can get my digital camera back from my sister heh... here's an old one (prior to the fresh zaino) pic

4 coats huh?! Trying to out do me?!! ;)

And just so you "zaino newbies" know the 1st time you use it you're going to have to do a little more to get the best results...
1.) Wash car with dawn to remove old wax
2.) Claybar car
3.) Wash car again w/regular car wash
4.) Apply Z1 polish lok
5.) Apply Z# polish of your choice directly ontop of Z1
6.) After waiting 1 hour buff off

After you wait 24 hours you can wash the car w/carwash and apply another coat of z2 or z3 whichever you choose.. repeating up to 5 layers or as many as you want :)

1 coat a month... Last put Z1 on it 4 months ago.

Don't forget to put Z6 on in between coats!

I'm lazy also (to do those 4 step processes) so I use Finish First Polish.....the shine ain't bad and it protects the paint (I can tell since moisture beads on the car).

Well Im a lazy person too and zaino isn't hard to use... wipe it on with a zaino applicator go do whatever you want for atleast an hour and then come back and buff it off... it comes off pretty easy it just gets a little tiresome when it's 90 degrees w/100% humidity ;)

Just remember front to back on the top surfaces and up and down on the sides :)

I let it sit for the whole night....since I heard that it's more effective that way. :)

Suprisingly, it ain't hard to wipe off...and it's rewarding to see it shine and feel it's soft spec-less exterior. :)

Unfreaking believable :Q Most of the time I only do one layer of WAX  on my car and that's about it. Don't have time to do more :( Anyway, does waiting 24 hours apply for all polish/wax or just for zaino products? How long does the layers of wax last anyway?

They do mail order. In fact, that's about the only way to order it. No online distributors that I've ever seen.
