What's the diff between regular peanuts and cocktail peanuts?

Is there such a thing as "regular" peanuts? Cocktail peanuts are cooked in oil. There are also dry roasted peanuts, honey roasted, etc. Spanish peanuts (still have the red skin on). Peanuts in the shell, which will be roasted with optional salt. I can't recall ever seeing shelled peanuts labelled as simply "Peanuts"....
