What's the deal with the "C:\Program Files\xerox\nwwia" folder in Windows XP that you can't delete?

It's empty, and if you use a boot disk to delete it, it is somehow recreated. It doesn't show up in the registry, and I can't find any info on it anywhere...

Can somebody shed any info on this?

Also, does anyone know how to get rid of the empty directory "C:\Program Files\microsoft frontpage\version3.0\bin" as well?

These two undeletable directories has been there from Build 2474, but no one knows what they do...

IIS is installed (at least some parts of it) by default when windows xp is installed. you should be able to delete the frontpage directory if you uninstall IIS through the add-remove programs control panel.

Same thing with mine, I have exactly the same directories, dont have a clue why they are there.

Whats also strange is that it is written "xerox" instead of "Xerox", everything else in the installation starts with a capital letter.

xerox, eh? That's where Micro$oft copies all the incriminating evidence, and every time you run Windows Update, the file is dumped to that big database in the sky. M$ is out to get you!

Well Xerox did come up with the mouse and the GUI as well as TCP/IP. Maybe it is their secret way of getting revenge.

Oh no! Maybe...

Xerox let Microsoft "steal" some of their innovations in order to spread their potent virus around the world on a standard OS. They also did this to make sure that the blame of being intrusive and monopolistic falls on Microsoft. Then, when the time is right, Xerox will use their virus to take over the world!
