I'm sorry, but that squealing noise would drive me out of my mind.

It's either the squealing sound or a louder version of the sound you get when you bleed air out of a tire. Take your pick. No way I could do without either :awe:

I'll say one thing about the squeal... the casual ricer or dude in a brand new Altima or "V8" Tundra with temp tags who engages in a petty pissing contest with me jumps out of their shoes, and ceases their hostilities near instantly like they just saw a ghost, when that sound suddenly comes from out of nowhere full song. That alone is worth putting up with "squeal" :D

my Z you get a slight hiss and a decent woosh ....

my evo sounds like a crazed blow-drier with an insane WOOSH ...

in a fun car, you got to have some sort of boost

LOL, we have a nice two bridge setup that goes over a main street in our town. I just went to the store in the evo and found myself giving the car a little extra gas as I went under..... has nothing to do with my penis size, it is just fun

I think it just comes down to what fuzzy said, you won't understand until you get a vehicle that sounds substantial.

If doesn't have anything to do with penis size it means you are just a dick. I understand loud exhaust is (in some cases) a side effect of performance tuning, but making it even louder under an overpass by stomping the gas is just plain inconsiderate, you're no better than the ricers with 18" subs tuned to 80hz thumping away in parking garages setting off car alarms.

My car is relatively quiet, just a light rumble, but even backing it into the garage the bass tones get quite loud. There's a tunnel by the airport nearby that's maybe 200yds long where my car gets louder and louder the further I drive through it because of the reverberation off the concrete walls. I've been guilty of flat-footing it a few times through there in previous cars much louder than the current one, but it's by the airport so it's always noisy around there. All the appliance drivers beep their horn when driving through it.

That's what I think. Sure, some may rev, but a lot of it is probably just the sound naturally reflecting and reverberating in those situations.

All the appliance drivers beep their horn when driving through it.

"I think my Nissan Leaf is defective. I revved it in a tunnel, and didn't hear anything."

No you don't

yes you do... think of your bad@ss V8... now think of that same motor with a pair of turbos strapped to it... much better

search youtube for nelson racing engines

I have a dick, but I am not a dick. Giving it a bit of throttle in a tunnel or under a bridge is not inconsiderate. My exhaust sounds good. Sure it may be loud, but as an enthusiast, I like to hear good sounding exhaust notes and feel I am just sharing mine with other enthusiasts. I didn't set my car up to be obnoxiously loud like some harley owners do, mine is one of those that is the result of a turbo/low restriction exhaust setup.

the game definitely changes when you blip the throttle a bit and they realize you are boosted

Don't even have to know what boost is to jump out of your shoes and shit yourself when certain sounds come from nowhere next to your open window :D

Those who know what it is smile ear to ear and play pocket pool.
