What's the deal with newegg...

Might be only vaguely on topic... I ordered a whole computer from newegg I selected to get rushed processing. So 6 days later, I call up and they still haven't verified my address(I know for sure I wrote it right). In the end, they just release my order without verifying it(wheres the security?). Remember, it was suposed to be rush processed. Now, it's the second day after that and they haven't even retrieved from warehouses... where's this great newegg service I've always heard about...

I would bet that it was not Newegg that dropped the ball but your CC company. The CC co. is who actualy verifies your address.
Just a thought...................

They refund your money or do not charge you the rush processing fee if they fail to ship the item in 24 hour after the order.

Yeah I know, I would be a little frustrated too because I want my new toys ASAP. ;) .

I've noticed service from Newegg has slowed a little. I used to order stuff and have it shipped for sure by the next day. Now it often takes an extra day to get it out the door. I think they are trying to push for the extra "rush order" money, even though it isn't much. Maybe they cut back on their warehouse staff?

At least Fedex gets the stuff to me quick, and without too much damage...

I would say the problem might be with your cc co. ;)

Or newEgg might have dropped the ball . . . it's certainly possible

I know for me, I ordered a new system 2 weeks ago - on a Tuesday - for $3.95, NewEgg DID rush it out the SAME day - and I got it the NEXT day . . .

. . . and I stayed up all night building it. :p

It was 5 days after I got an email from newegg saying my credit card was successfully charged that I finally called them and they released the address verification... it's all really weird. Last night, I also checked my account balance and it hadn't changed...

In the past Newegg always shipped to me right from California. You placed your order, the very next day you had a tracking number and that baby was heading your way. 3 days you had it.

Now when I order (from the East Coast), it takes 2 days for the tracking number to come, and the package gets sent from Edison, New Jersey. It still gets here in 3 days, same as from California.

I think they still do all the processing in California, then send the order request to New Jersey, and there is a one day delay in between. While it is the same time for me, I imagine it cuts down on shipping charges for them.

Has no bearing on what happened to Ayashi, except that maybe they are still working out some glitches in the new system.

I haven't had a problem with Newegg with the last two orders I have placed. One being a bunch of parts for a New PC which actually shipped from TN, NJ, and CA. I even ordered two day service because I wanted it by the weekend, Newegg wasn't able to ship it the same day due to system problems, so they upgraded my shipping to Next Day Air for free...got it FedEx by 8:30AM...not bad service if you ask me. Newegg has never failed to impress me and I've been ordering from them for 3 years now at least.

If I get my order in by 3PM EST it ships out that same day from NewEgg. I'll have a FedEx # by 10PM that night.

I've placed over 100 orders with NewEgg, they are the best.

Well I can say I'm glad to hear from someone that finally had a part ship from TN. All of mine have shipped from CA or NJ. I live in Nashville and needless to say I was a little upset when Newegg started charging us Tennesseans sales tax. I've been ordering from Newegg for 2-3 years myself and have always been impressed. Last week I purchased some stuff from them and everything shipped from CA. Placed the order on Wednesday morning, it shipped that day, and was delivered Friday afternoon. Can't beat that.

Unfortunately, though, all good things come to an end. I'm putting together some parts to build my son a replacement PC and I'm probably going to order from ZipZoomFly. Their prices on the parts I'm looking at are a couple of bucks lower than Newegg, they have free 2nd day shipping, and I don't have to pay sales tax.

Newegg rocks, but taxes suck. :(

I noticed something similar. I got the shipping notification days after it was actually shipped. Happened with parts I ordered last week. The service still seems to be on since I got my orders when I expected to when I ordered, but the automated aspects like emails and credit card processing may be slipping.

New Egg has always been good never overly impressive, at least with my orders. When I place an order on Sunday night I get the shipping and charge confirmation within an hour. Late the next night I get the tracking number and the goods on Thursday, and this is in Louisiana. If I order from Mwave or ZipZoom Fly (What an oddball name) I get the goods usually by noon Wednesday.

Sorry to hear about your problems with NewEgg. I would have to say that it is unusual for them. Like others have said, I would have to guess your CC company might have dropped the ball.

I placed an easy order today (4 smallish items) around 10:00 their time, and they just closed, and it has not shipped out yet. No, I didn't pick rush order :)

EDIT: I'm a liar. I thought they'd email me when they shipped it - over the past few hours it has been shipped and I now have a tracking number or something. I didn't pick rush order, and am glad I didn't!
