I enjoy it, it's a killer release and good excercise. A way to share the enjoyment of a high energy rock show with a host of people you've never met but who enjoy the same thing. Plus, it's full of sweaty girls.

Don't you just get punched around by everyone?

With all the kids who have no clue on how to behave, and who think they should behave the way they saw on MTV and stuff, punching unfortunately gets more and more common with the 'popular' bands. Some Nu-metal band had it in their video, so it must be what you have to do right?

With bands that have been around longer the fans who come for the music rather than cause the band had a hit single will usually keep those kids under control, and it will be pusing rather than hitting, and if someone falls or loses their glasses or whatever the whole pit dies down and everyone moves aside to help out. Also those around the pit will usually not be pushed in at those concerts.

Yeah, what he said. Whenever you go to a big show with popular bands, you're not going to have a good pit there. Go see some smaller bands or more local bands where the fans are there for the music. Those are where the pit is about appreciation for the music and the people in the pit aren't trying to hurt eachother.

It was wierd watching them. People on the outside were pushing other outsiders in. When someone fell in the pit, they helped each other up. Vewy intwesting...

Sum 41 fans are idiots. You get a bunch of frat boys and rednecks who no nothing about the punk scene going to their shows and they think moshing is supposed to be like tackling people in a football game. I have been to the most brutal of punk and hardcore shows in CBGBs and at all the rest of the NY scene spots. Nobody ever gets hurt. Why? Because people at those shows know how to have fun when they dance. It's not a contest to see who you can hurt the worst, it's supposed to be done to let your aggressions out.

The only people who get hurt at NY shows are the random frat boy who wanders in because he saw Blink-182 on TRL and he thinks dancing is about punching and pushing people. Idiots like that usually leave with a black eye or bloody nose from the beatdown.
