Whats the deal with Dell??

I ordered a printer using that 15% off S&P from DellSB and the stackable 10% off on a Printer... When I ordered it, it said ships in 1 - 3 business days, I usually moniter my buys so I constantly see what the status is. Everyday it said ships in 1 - 3 days, well when it comes time to ship it out it says ships in 1 - 2 weeks... I get a phone call from a Dell Rep. saying there was a slight delay and it will be shipped out by Sept 25th... So okay fine I don't mind the wait but I keep checking up on their online status and it keeps saying "In Production" will ship by 9/11/02 do they just not update their orders or did they just forget about mine? I've ordered from them before and they always updated my status when a delay arrived..

Dell F-ed around with me for over a month with a digital camera i ordered from them. Never again will i buy anything but a computer from them, their S & P store sucks ass now.

When I ordered a monitor from them back in the winter, it took 3 months before I finally got it. They suck.:disgust:

I ordered a monitor from them last week and their website kept saying I hadn't ordered anything (although a search with the order number brought up the right order). I then signed up to be emailed when that order was shipped. I didn't hear anything at all the entire week, and finally on Sunday I decided to check the status of my order number (again, I still had to search for it because Dell's site said I hadn't ordered anything). What do you know? The order had been shipped days ago and would be delivered tomorrow. So I'd say they don't update their site much at all....

I ordered a 19" Samsung monitor for my GF's mom as an Xmas gift back in November. To make a long story short: I didn't get it until February.

I ordered one of the Radeon 8500's at dell when it was still being pre-ordered. There was a thread about it in hot deals, it was about 33% off the lowest price anyone could find and it was not even out yet. They ended up calling me about 5 times to say it was gonna be late, after 3 and a half months I told the CSR "Nice service, cancel my order please and hung up the phone." They never called back. Supposedly a lot of people never received that card or received it WAY later than expected.

I had a good experience with them when I ordered my linksys wireless AP. But it wasn't some kind of flaming hot deal with pricematching, rebates, and all that other stuff.

Dell has a terrible website. It never updates and continually has wrong info regarding your orders. With that said my $45 48x (40x) Lite on burner and $35 16x dvd arrived on time. Can't complain about the price.

I ordered a workstation at work and wanted the full Dell warranty. I wasn't about to let them overcharge for memory on their customization page, so I instead ordered the same Dell memory for half price on their peripherials page (that way warranty isn't void). I got the memory a full 5 weeks after the computer arrived. During that wait, I checked their web page every week and I phoned every week. The people on the phone said the 256 MB ECC RDRAM RIMMS were out of stock (this was well over a year ago and these were rare) yet the website always said it was in stock. Each week I told the phone people to update the webpage, they never did.
