What's the deal with airline food?

the walkin freezer thing just didn't work out, and they seem to have enough problems staying afloat without having a 5 star chef on each $99 flight to Cleveland

You can get other meals. Pretend you are a Jew, Muslim, Veggatarian. Just ask what type of speical meals they have when making the res.

You can pay extra for the premium meals. Jet fuel price go up + ticket price go down + less travellers = PROFIT!

my wife tried jewish meal on the way to taiwan, it sucked... i tried veg. meal and it sucked...

the best meal i've ever had was on a first class flight from San Francisco to Washington D.C

[annoying, nasally stand up comedian voice]And what's the deal with sneakers. I mean, do you really sneak with them? And what about loafers. I mean, loafers are work shoes, not loafing shoes.[/annoying, nasally stand up comedian voice]

I was flying on NWA last year and had the airplane meal, a sub sandwich, salad, and cheesecake, and thought it was pretty good!

1. Eliminate airline food.
2. Pack a snack.
3. Lower prices.
4. ????
5. Consumer for the win.

FTS! (Fvck that sh!t) I don't wanna "pack a lunch" on a six hour flight, let alone a 12 hour flight. I like airline food for the most part and have no complaints, taking airline food out is probably the gayest thing they could do.

Yup, take your own stuff if you want decent food. I didn't have any trouble bringing a whole pizza box onboard multiple flights 😀

that reminded me of a website that a guy who put up on foods of airlines... people can submit pictures of the meal they get from different airlines.... hmmm i'll google it...

edit: found it here

Competition for customers is one the strongest force on suppliers to perform to high quality standards.

You, sitting in that airplane seat, are a captive customer. There's no competition for your consumption.

If the airline got so many complaints that customers actually stopped flying their airline, that'd provide a market force toward improverment. Otherwise, chow down, or don't eat that disgusting airplane "meal."
