What's the coolest hobby class you've ever taken?

Going down to Oregon in about a week to take a class on how to make goat's milk cheese. My husband is really excited. 🙂 I'd like to take a gold casting class sometime, learn how to make molds and cast rings and stuff. Metalwork is so much cooler than simple set stones.

Probably the 'music in technology' class I'm taking now. We learn how to properly design an acoustically sound room, how to properly EQ and produce music, how to use computer based synthesizer programs and midi controllers properly, how music compression works, and have field trips to recording studios and stuff.

Scuba diving was cool...

Seconded. I started on my advanced with a deep dive and it was awesome, on the way up did a spiral path around a giant cone-shaped coral with red snappers swarming all around.

Wow, I'd love to take scuba. Where was that at?

I was living in Bangkok at the time, took the course in Ko Tao and the dive I described was in Palau Perhentian in Malaysia. A basic course runs around $300 I think, that is a pretty standard worldwide price.

edit: then everytime you go on vacation you can toss a couple of dives in too, they usually run $25-$35 a piece

Welding class, easily. That shit's just so fun - I can't believe they let me handle an acetylene torch when I was 12!

Was this in your junior high school, middle school, or at a college? 😵

I took one semester/two terms/half-a-school-year of metal shop when I was a freshmen in high school. I thought it was really fun actually, but I did get a scar from not paying attention when I was gas welding. 🙁 I had a metal rod(of some sort) that you melt onto the metal and I was holding that and I wasn't paying attention and I stuck the thing into myself. It just went through my t-shirt and sweatshirt like air. That burned all day... I should have put cream on it earlier. 🙁 I didn't realize that burning cream really does fucking work. O_O I mean really... It soothed that pain away fast... Still barely noticeable scar though. (You really have to look and think that it is something unnatural)

Fun times.

Archery in middle school was fun. It was part of PE, but still cool.

wtf... That's bullshit. I wish we got archery. Freaking people and their schools that can afford more than 20 year old soccer balls!

Ah, let's see...

Sailing

Music history (classical music)

Singing

Drawing

Karate

I'm sure there are others...

My high school had archery

until someone got hit with an arrow and the insurance company shut it off
It's to bad because they had some nice equipment, and I really like archery

I was discussing my job with a colleague; we were both entertained by certain facts. I grab boobs all day at work. Performing an ECG (or EKG) practically requires you to grab a boob or, at least, look at it. There are all types of boobs; however, for all the sick people you see - only the hot, 18-25 year old boobs stick out (yeah, like there?s an age cutoff 😉 ). Unfortunately, I?m an ass man. A lot of the boobies are wasted on me.

Cool? You mean the one you enjoyed the most?

Bonsai right now, although Paintball and Computer Gaming were the most "fun" earlier in life.

I went to school in Belcher, Louisiana. Yep, that's the name.

If they can afford it, anyone can.
