Does my car count?

If not, I'll go with my HDTV and my Digital VHS VCR (it records in 1080i). Looks great.

Sidekick II. Perfect intergration of text messaging, email, and instant messaging. Too bad it is in such a childish looking package.

My PSP.

It's pretty versatile with the sh!tload of homebrew apps I've got on the stick (TV/VCR/DVD remotes, Robosapien remote, VNC client, RSS reader, streaming TV/media/music clients, IM, various console emulators, PDF reader, FTPd, links2 browser, wifi sniffer, etc.).

Oh, and the PSP games are pretty good too. 😉

I'd say of all my gadgets I treasure my psp the most as well. for all those things mentioned, and a few that arent.

AOS Piccolo DAC.

How much do those things cost? I mean, you don't have to tell us the prices, just tell us whether they were expensive or [relatively] cheap.

It's around $300 and change. I use it w/ a Shellbrook Maxi Head.

From the looks on the insides, I don't think it could cost them more than $20 to make...or am I missing something

I'll buy one from you for $300 if you can make one that sounds exactly like the one in the picture.

Just curious, with the exception of two of those chips...every other part is pretty standard. I wonder if those chips are custom...

It doesn't appear that any of the chips are custom. Some of them are hard to find but hardly proprietary. It probably took maybe $100 to build in parts if they're all purchased in single quantity. Of course, you also have to take in account the labor that went into design and testing. Windows XP Pro goes for $199 often but the CD and the box certainly don't cost that much.

Well, my quick search finds the hardest components to locate are the Burr Brown OPA-627's. But yeah, the other stuff would be pretty cheap to buy.

My Game Boy Colour 😀 people say "wow" when they see me playing it. Although my Gerber multi-tool is pretty neat too.

I'm a gadgetmonkey, but I'm also a cheapskate so most of my gadgets aren't all that amazing.

Probably one thing that most people don't have is an Adagio TriniTEA which is just brilliant.
