those one cent a minute calling cards are actually pretty good as long as you use them in big chunks, since the connection fee is quite high

Call that person long distance. A minuter after talking with them pretend you're getting a bad connection, then just hang up. They'll call you back and then it's on their bill. Works everytime. After a while they get pissed, though.

i use dialpad for my LD. with a dsl/cable, its just like being on the phone with the person...and its free.

Yes dialpad is good on Cable.. but not on my 56K crapola

Oh, and another vote for dialpad.com.

Unless it's just one person, and you fear conversation privacy.

Oh ya, and Creative has a good hardware VoIP Blaster(as opposed to dialpads software VoIP) which makes things a whole lot clearer... and you can plug a phone into it, like a cordless and walk around, so yer not stuck on the pc like u r with dialpad. -$20

for me its really my cell phone... if you're on a 2000 minute plan for like 35 bucks, you're paying a mere 1.75 cents per minute.
