A lot of people seem to really like EVGA, they are more expensive in Holland then their Asus counterparts though, and asus gives you 2 free games, so I went asus. This newegg website is making me think. I think I should start something similar in Holland, coz all other e-tailers we got are similarly expensive, and that means 8800gts 320mb at 270 euro's, mind you, my 270 euro's are worth 350 dollars.

Anyways, I haven't seen them much cheaper then 259.99, at those resolutions you have to consider the 8800gts 640mb or the 2900xt though, seeing as the extra amount of memory really makes a differences at those resolutions. If you can get a 2900xt for the same price as a 8800gts 640mb, then buy the 2900xt, if you can get a 8800gts 640mb for 30$ less then the 2900xt, then go for the 8800gts 640mb.

mazeroth - it really depends on your requirements and the games you play at 1680x1050. There are a lot of reviews out there for the GTS 320MB.

Here's the AnandTech review: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2926

It seems to perform well up to that resolution without AA enabled. Enabling AA does incur a performance hit, though it depends on the game. In some game's it's not terribly significant, in others it is. Then again, this is an old review, so the drivers may have improved the situation.

I haven't seen it much lower than the eVGA price of $259 AR. Given the cost of producing the part, I don't imagine that it will come down much further.

As there seem to be no real, reliable DX10 benchmarks yet, it remains to be seen how any of the current DX10 parts will actually perform on DX10 titles.

Cheers.

I just got myself an 8800GTS 320MB from eVGA but mine was the KO ACS3 overclocked version. Mine cost me around 367$ CDN. The regular overclocked version was like 30$ cheaper and the one there must have been even cheaper than that so I guess that's a fair deal.

From what I read, as long as you game under 1900x1600 or whatever it is that you will be fine with the 320MB, although I'm sure extra memory won't hurt at 1600x1200. I play at 1280x1024 so the 320MB is fine for me and would probably be fine for you too. Can't say what games like Crysis and others will do at 1600x1200 on the 320MB though. Perhaps consider the 2900XT or 8800GTS 640MB or GTX.

All in all though the 320MB will be fine probably.
