you can pull it off for 1k very easily. newegg is good for refrence, sometimes it screws those of us who live within the taxable area. see what it costs on there, then try to match the price elsewhere looking for things like free shipping and also make sure your buying from another state to avoid tax.

otherwise, take your chances and do the for sale/trade forum and get lucky if anyone is actually selling for cheap the stuff you actually want.

Just look around and buy each part at the cheapest place. It will be easy to keep that under 1k.

yeah i hear the opty are killer overclockers, but overclocking scares the bejesus out of my bank account, so mildly overclocking the x-2 seemed best for me
