7.8 gigs in a 24 hour period over a cable isp. Their daily limit is like 1 gig a day and so I received a phone call the next day. I dropped them like a bad habit and went with dsl and have not had that problem again.

600MB over a 56Kb/sec dialup (one word: divx 😉 )

Now I'm doing the first ISO of Redhat 7.2, again over dialup, and will do the next ISO also. It really sucks that you only get 1/4th of the file done in one night (download resumers are necessary, of course).

one time... i was sending 5 mg file over 56k line to a friend who lives a couple of towns over... via peer to peer dial up network.

the process took so long... that i decided to just drive over and hand him over the cd with files on there.

sometimes... physical transfer is much faster. 🙂

I've never even tried to keep track, I got over a gig on dialup once in a month 😀

But now that I'm on cable, it's about 1gb per day every day.

Back in my 56k days, I download a few gigs from an FTP site of videos. I had to keep it connected and download for nonstop for (I think it was) 4 days. Of course now thats nothing to broadband users.

I downloaded RH 7.2 (4 CD's) and Solaris 8 (4 CD's) in a few hours before.

I believe thats around 3+ Gb.

Well, if I use the timescale you're using, then I'll go for all the stuff I[ve downladoed while my broadband connection was a vailable to me. I dunno, a lot. couple hundred gigs total?

Mandrake 8.0

about 1.3GB, done in a few hours.

Other than that, I downloaded about 100 trance mp3s (many of them full albums) and 2 movies in 1 night. About 3gb, so much that the counter of my DSL software overflowed (it counted in bytes, and intergers in C/C++ only go to 2.3billion I think)
