Current system specs:

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Rev. 2
Barton 2500 @ 2.25 GHZ (3200+)
1 Gig Corsair PC3200 LL
ATI 9800 Pro 128MB
Audigy 2
Atlas 10KIV
Tekram SCSI 390U3W

Thinking of either new MB with a 3500+ AMD64

or a new GPU (thinking 6800GT if I can find one)

Primarily for gaming... Thinking GPU is the winner, but looking for confirmation...

For Doom 3 the 9800 Pro is holding you back more than the CPU and the 6800GT is the best card to get.

But if you aren't getting Doom 3 right away, you might as well wait for the GT supply to increase and prices to drop.
