Hi all,

I need to sell my car (57 Ford Fairlane 500 w/ 55,000 miles on the origional engine, pretty decent shape).

I can't take care of it and I really need the money.

I've never sold a car before.... plus this is an older one. What are my options?

Thanks :)

You can try the standard newspaper classified, but for something like a '57 Fairlane I'd also check into places that specialize in antiques. Someplace like collectorcartraderonline.com might be a good place to start. Any local antique classifieds too.

Screw what the radio says!

Those idiots are destroying classic cars and cars needed for parts for restoration projects. Not to mention cars of the 1970's that are becomming collectable are getting very scarce now because of those fools.

A 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 is a very collectable car. I am sure someone will want to restore it.

Exactly, if the car is in any kind of good shape, or collectible you will want to do tons of research to be sure you get everything it is worth. If it is desireable, rare and sought after you may want to consider a collector car auction.

What kind of shape is it in?

Classic Car Trader or whatever it's called... part of the Auto Trader line of car magazines. How much is the car worth?

I'm not really sure... still trying to find a price... maybe around ~$5500?

Step 1: Post ad on any internet website.

Step 2: Read 5 or 6 e-mail offers from somebody offering to buy it for the asking price and have it shipped overseas.

Step 3: Accept cashiers check for 4-8 grand more than the purchase price and wire the change to someplace else.

Step 4: Find out you're screwed when the phony check bounces.
