What's the best way to secure a virtual PC?

I'm playing around with connectix's virtual PC and I plan to use it for an email server. I want to minimize any kind of attack that might happen to a standard email server.

I guess my biggest concern is that I don't want anyone to be able to gain access to the virtual pc and then through that be able to access my network.

Am I being too worried?

I really don't have anything to worry about but I just want to do this correctly.

Shut off any unnecessary services, apply all the latest security patches/fixes and only allow certain types of traffic in and out of the Virtual PC via TCP/IP filtering.

The TCP/IP filtering may be your best bet but be careful .. don't want to lock yourself out.

Allow perhaps your Domain Authentication ports, Email ports, and perhaps TS ports. Other than that I think Connectix works outside of the TCP/IP filtering so shouldn't be affected but you may want to copy your Virtual PC file before making this drastic change.
