What's the best way to remove paint?

I've got a few wooden framed windows that need to be stripped and repainted. What's the easiest way to remove the paint. I'd like to avoid harsh chemicals, but if it's the best way, tell me what I should get.

why do you want to avoid said chemicals? you could always sand the paint down but with paint flakes and dust i'd say paint remover, primer, sand, and paint

I may go pick one up tomorrow. I have a lot more than just one window to strip....and figure it might be a good investment since a lot of the work will be indoors.

Second the heat gun; also pick up some sand papers.
