What's the best way to relief feet after intensive activity?

I am a Viking. I adopt a severe and unmericiful attitude towards all parts om my body. No leniency and no coddling. It would be ok however to sit on a hard chair.
 
I do a lot of sports and I know for a fact that the best way to relieve your feet is to elevate them. Lay down and put your feet up. Yeah,,,,, thats the way.
