i am 6'1" and i used to weigh like in 230s... ya i ballooned up since my sophomore year in college... cuz i had some health issues... i mean i weighed around 180s when i was in 12th grade and in my freshman year... anyway, my health issue has somewhat resolved and i was able to drop about 35lbs in 4months... my workout routine is as follows...

monday - bench press(flat, inclined, declined), barbell curls, cardio
tuesday - angled leg press, triceps, abdomen crunch, cardio
wednesday - bench press, cardio
thursday - shoulder press, squat, cardio
friday - bench press, barbell curls, cardio
saturday- angled leg press, abdomen crunch, cardio
sunday - watch football 🙂

anyway, what i am trying to say is if u do regular cardio.. like around 30 min to 45 min a day... u will be able to drop 10 lbs in a month or 2... and if u do lift weights and cardio... u will definitely lose 10lbs in a month!

at some point, u will regain ur weight as ur muscle mass increases... hope that helps 🙂

sorry... u gotta excersize... u could take those ephidrine supplement... but thats not a healthy way to lose weights...

You bench press 3 days a week? You are overtraining and not maximizing your efforts

Seriously, my best time of dropping weight was after my freshman year of college (basically hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries every meal). I drank only water and played raquetball three times a week. If you've never played racquetball it will be one heck of a workout (when you get better you learn to read the bounce of the ball and can get into position easier). It is a high energy sport but there are several people in their 60s who kick my tail in it by taking better shot selection. If you have knees/back/elbow problems that won't let you play a high intensity sport, walking several miles every morning at the mall does work (my 76 yr old grandpa does 7 miles in not much more than an hour, those old people sure can move)

I really need one of those crash diets that I can use to drop weight quickly and then just keep it off.
A plethora of long term studies indicate that crash diets just do not work long term. Like the others have said, there is really no substitute for exercise and long term diet modifications. Or you could go with that left leg thing.

Isn't the rule 72 hours (3 days) between working out large muscle groups? (vague memory from a college weight lifting course, and waiting more than 96 hours slows your muscle growth as well I recall)

Just remember that losing weight is 90% diet, so try focusing on what you commonly eat and see how you can improve it. If you drink milk--try going to skim, try changing your bread to wheat and cut out sodas as much as possible. And if you want to snack, eat vegetables or fruit or rice cakes or something like that. And don't forget to exercise!

Dont know about the 96 but the 72 sounds right. His workout was doing the same exercise every 48hours.
