My Samsung A-920 has gone through the washing machine and now needs some warranty work. Obviously if they detectd water inside it will be denied.....any suggestions?

I heard that the microwave will dry it pretty well... ;)

Just take the battery out and leave it for a few days :D

It turns on....which is goos.....but the eternal speakers get VERY hot, hot enough to burn you if left on your skin for too long

Use compressed air to get through the tiny cracks and then use a blow dryer, but not on the highest setting.
Just my thoughts.

Most cell phones have a piece of chemical paper that changes color if it gets wet permanently.

If the A920 has it (I don't know...but I have the same phone)...you can try all you want and you will still be busted.

Would it be a bad idea to open it up?

this is no different than insurance fraud

I think most, if not ALL phones have this. It is very likely that samsung will deny warranty work on the phone because of water damage.

It is quite different. All they can do is deny me warranty work.....not have me charged.

My v710 had a water sensor in it, there was a button that changed colors inside when it got wet. Luckily my cell insurance covered water damage ;)

Take battery out for a few days and take some srews our ior losen them enough to break the seal to allow the air inside evaporate quickly. Or if you can just take it fully apart and wipe up the water and let it sit and evap the rest. Most electronics if they get dunked if you can just get all the water out and evap for a few days will work again.

ROFL, my gf did the same thing to her RL-7300 and dropped her new A920 in a cup of water. I'd say your best bet is to put it in a sealed plastic baggie with some rice in it to absorb moisture.

friend of mine dropped his in the toilet... twice. he was always on the phone and found himself having to urinate at the same time...

the first time he fished it out real quick and let it sit for a few days and it worked. the second time he just gave up and bought a new, cheapass phone.

Leave it out for a week or 2 with out the battery. Use a 6-4 torx screwdrivers to open the casing and check/clean debris or corrosion off the contacts.

<-- My GF V3c Razr when through a wash and now it is worked perfectly after 2 weeks sitting un use in the drawer. And after cleaning the corrosion off the contacts it is working perfectly.
