i use the citibank platinum select, its easy to get, and my apr is prime+1.9% which i believe makes its 9.9% for purchases. No annual fee, single cycle average balances.

Get the one that will give you air-miles or something else for using it. I use Marriott rewards Visa. I have enough points now for about 5 free nights. A friend used the Volkswgon card and got about $2500 off his new car. I may switch to an airline card soon so I can take the family away for a few days.

This only is good if you pay off your card every month.

I just picked up the Citibank Sony Visa card -- every purchase makes me that much closer to my Wega TV!! :)

BTW, I think the VW card is now defunct. The only automobile card that's left is the GM card, I believe. I think many of those companies took baths from the rebates. Airline cards are nice, too, if you travel much.

Apply for a card at your regular bank. Most banks are willing to help out their customers with a lower interest card, assuming you're a good customer with good credit.

If you are concerned about the interest rate, which means you aren't paying your balance in full every month, no rebate or point deal is going to be worth a crap. The best rebate/frequent flyer miles/"points" deal doesn't even come to the equivalent of a 2% difference in interest rate.

If you don't pay in full every month, look for the lowest interest rate you can find, and don't let any rebate scheme confuse the issue.

Citibank cards kick butt!!! Go for one of those, the Sony one is a good choice.
