I would be happy with anything like a 6600 GT, 9800 Pro, X700 Pro or above for now.
I just bought an X700 Pro so really, I'll wait a couple of months after the first Geforce 8 line start coming out to upgrade.
But, the 7800's have a faster working HDR which UT2007 will use.

Epic stated that the nvidia 6600gt's should be able to run the Unreal 3 engine fine.
I got this from one of the Americas Army devs. Next year an Americas Army game will be based on the Unreal 3 engine.

It's comforting to know that...but will it run it well? I suggest going a step or two above the 6600 GT to a 6800 GT or X800 XL. Damn, now we just need those prices to drop to $200. The 6600 GT prices have fallen some but the 6800 GT prices seem resilient at $300.

the xl is faster than the PLAIN 6800. the 6800 gt is a different story, but i think the xl beats the gt in unreal tournament in particular by like 5 frames.

i bet you thought it was "optimized" by the nvidia logo on the startup :)

Faster HDR? How is it any different? Maybe I'm just not understanding what you mean, but I don't see how it has anything to do with UT2007.
